Casey's Love For All Things Living

October 13, 2015

One Day as I was cleaning and Casey and Buddy were playing in the yard she came running in the house Crying and Screaming my name. Thinking she was hurt I tried to comfort her and look for damage. She pulled away and said "No Mommy, "Come-ear" {Come here) and pulled me back out into the yard. She was still crying and said "Look What Bubby Did, He Killed them All!"
I sat down beside a pile of dirt that use to be an anthill and put her on my lap. I said "No he didn't baby, Just watch them."
As we set there I told her all I knew about Ants and their drive for life. I told her how strong and determaned they were and how they always worked as a family to build their homes and feed each other.
We watched for about an hour as one by one- back and forth, they hauled dirt back up the sides and rebuilt their home. When she thought they were close to being done she ran in the house and brought out her beloved "Cheeto Paws" and said "They must be hungry after all dat workin" and crumbled a couple of hand-fulls on the ground around the little hill. She ate a few herself and snuggled down in my arms. She said with a yawn, "When I'm Done nappin' I wanna build a fence. So bubby can't stomp'um no more!" As I watched her drift off to sleep I realized for the first time, I had one special animal lover in my arms that would probably grow up and be a veterinarian.

Mommy will always Love and Miss You.

Anyone who knew her knows what a Special, Beautiful, Happy and Healthy Angel she was. (And still is) She was Wiser then any 28 month old should have been. I was told she was an "Old Soul" in a Babies Body. SHe was so awesome that people who weren't even born Love and Miss her.
