Earth has no sorrows that heaven can not heal. I will truly miss Cathy "my elevator friend" which was where our paths crossed in Durham County. Always with a smile and an encouraging word. Continue to trust God knowing that He is too wise to make a mistake. Your family will forever be in my prayers.

Thinking and praying for the Currin and Whisenhunt families during this time of great loss. I grew up with Cathy, knew her for over 50 years and had the honor of working with her in Durham County Government for over 15 years. She was a wonderful loving mother, always spoke of her three fabulous kids and was a dedicated public servant. She carried God in her heart and shared him with everyone she met. Please know that you and your families will be in my heart and prayers in the coming days and week ahead. God Bless You All. Mike

No words can express the deepness of this loss of such a wonderful person and friend. Cahty was like a sister to me in so many ways and like a family member. I have had the great pleasure of sharing in her life and Cahty was such a funny, giving, caring, nuturing, fun and loving person. I will share with many others this great loss and will miss her forever, deeply and truly. I am so glad she is no longer suffering and is at peace and may her family take great comfort in that. To her family, i am only a phone call a way should you every need anything, i am here for you.

We are so sad--just turned on the computer and read Cathy's obituary--at this very moment, Craig is conducting the funeral--it will be so special. Just know that we love you and will continue to pray for you. We pray for you daily anyway, but sorry that we did not know of this sadness until now. Just know that we love you. Our love, Lennie and Rose

I was so saddened to hear the loss of Cathy….she was the loving wife of late cousin, Andy, and mother to Chase, Jamison/Kristina, and Carrie….she was always so upbeat and positive and fun-loving. Her passing is a great loss to all who knew her and she will be greatly missed, but lovingly remembered.

It is with heartfelt sympathy that I am sending you this message. I was saddened to hear of your loss. Cathy was so warm to the DECI family who shared concern when Andy was sick. I called so much, she called me his other wife. Cathy's sense of humor as Andy's will never be forgotten. We will never forget this family. I will continue to keep your entire family in our thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely

If I tell you Cathy will be sorely missed in Durham County for her business acumen, her work ethic, her integrity and her dedication to preserving Durham's resources, it feels selfish, although true. But it hardly scratches the surface of what she meant to so many of us here. She was a caring ear in times of trouble, a merry heart in times of festivity, generous and kind, with a love of God and ever present effort to honor her Lord in all she did. If I may rather say that I will remember Cathy for giving her heart in all she did and to all that asked. She was not lukewarm and selfishly, I loved her most for that. I will miss her and I share the hope, that one day, in an instant, in the twinkling of an eye, we shall be changed.

Sorry to hear about Cathy passing. We grew up together at Wilton and I served with Andy on the Exchange Prevent Child Abuse board for several years. May God give each of you peace and understanding today and the days ahead.
