Times are hard without you guidance, your love and your thoughtfulness. There has been many times of picking up the phone in hope of talking to you only to sit it down and regret that I didn't spend more time with you. Cathy is my friend. One year ago my world fell apart and life as I had known it ended. I was in a bad situation physically and emotionally and had no one to turn to. Cathy and I worked the night shift at Walmart together. We didn't know eachother very well. Cathy heard of my dilemma. She came to me one night at work and told me that God had told her to offer me a place to stay. There was no judgement in her heart. She said that God had blessed her with a wonderful life full of love from family and friends and had told her that I needed someone. I moved into her extra bedroom the next day. She let me stay with her for 4 months. She wouldn't accept any money from me. She told me I could repay her by taking the time to rebuild myself and to help someone else down the road. While I was with her, she became like a mother to me. She was very protective and nurturing. She would tell me when I was making bad decisions in a loving way and encouraged me when my decisions were good ones. I watched how she interacted with her family, friends, co-workers, etc. with genuine love, concern and kindness. I admired the way she handled adversity with strength, wisdom, grace, and laughter. She always had a smile for me. Her gentle words of love are forever in my heart. In my darkest of days, I thank God for sending me an angel to lead me. She taught me how to trust again. But more than that, she constantly told me that she loved me and that I deserved to be loved. I am blessed to have known her and by God's grace, He sent me a friend. I love you, Cat. I will NEVER forget you. Thank you for being MY FRIEND!
