She was born in Roanoke, Alabama September 20, 1952 to the late John Wyatt Jackson, Jr., and the late Laura Vinson jackson. She was a member of the LaFayette Heights Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son John Phillip Herndon of Avondale Estates, Ga., brothers Tim Jackson of Wedowee, Al., Bo Jackson of LaFayette, Al., grandson John Phillip Herndon, Jr. of Avondale Estates, Ga., cousin Suzanne Chandler of LaGrange, Ga.
