Cecil George Bloedorn was born October 15, 1927 in Wisner to August and Mary (Rhode) Bloedorn. He attended schools at Wisner and served in the United States Army, Second Division Infantry, from July 1946 until September 1947. On May 27, 1948, Cecil married LaVerne Ruth Kahler Kindschuh in Omaha. The couple lived on a farm and Cecil worked at the West Point alfalfa mill, then at IBP for 21 years, retiring in 1990. The couple moved to West Point in the early 1990s. Cecil was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, spending time at Wilderness Park and Ponca State Park, and listening to polka music. Survivors include his wife LaVerne of West Point; daughter Shirley Gant of Chanute, KS; sons Robert 'Bucky' (Joyce) Kindschuh and Garrey Kindschuh, both of West Point; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Cecil was preceded in death by his parents; sons Ronald Kindschuh and Donald Bloedorn; and sister Darlene Andresen.
