This memorial website was created in memory of our loved one, Cecily Gichobi, 53, born on September 22, 1962 and passed away on December 26, 2015. We will remember her forever.
As her beloved daughters, we write to you with heavy hearts having to accept heaven has gained an angel. Our mother was more than a fighter but a pillar of strength in her community. Her laughter will ring forever and her smile will transcend through decades.
Cecily Wambui spent her years being an amazing mother, grandmother, sister, friend and daughter. She was a woman of great strength whose love and compassion was felt near and far.
She took pride in being a nurse and spent her best and worst days caring for the sick and elderly. She opened her home, her heart and her finances to those that needed refugee or just a cup of tea. Cecily Wambui was a cornerstone to the family she leaves behind in Kenya and the U.S.
Cecily was laid to rest in Mbiri Village, Kirinyaga County, Kenya on Saturday, January 16, 2016. Rest in Peace.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” - 2 Timothy 4:7

All is Well
All Is Well
Death is nothing at all, I have only slipped into the next room
I am I and you are you
Whatever we were to each other, that we are still.
Call me by my old familiar name,
Speak to me in the easy way which you always used
Put no difference in your tone,
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow
Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household world that it always was,
Let it be spoken without effect, without the trace of shadow on it.
Life means all that it ever meant.
It it the same as it ever was, there is unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near,
Just around the corner.
All is well.
