BIOGRAPHY OF MAMA CHARLOTTE BOKENG NTUBA
Matron Charlotte Bokeng Ntuba of the Bafaw tribe of meme Cameroon,a former senior health professional of distinction,was borned on the 21st of september 1934 to the family of pa Wilfred Mukwelle Ntuba the 1st and ma Lucy Dibande Ntuba .
She attended primary schools in kumba , Nyasoso and Nigeria .
She passed her standard six certicate in 1948 from st saviour,s African church school Buguma port harcourt., Nigeria .
After her standard six certificate she got married to late Lawyer Noto with whom they had Mrs Joyce Noto Nwengela and later divorced .
She was later employed as a dresser in Camerooon development corporation [C.D.C] and worked in Ekona . After working for some time she gained admission into nursing school., Tiko in 1959. She completed the four years course on the 18th of june 1963 when she qualified as a registered nurse .
After graduation from nursing school , she was posted to the CDC hospital Tiko where she worked in various departments . As a theater nurse she worked under great names such as Prof Anomah Ngu, Prof Lantum , prof Doh and Prof Bejanga.
Due to her hard work and duty consciousness over the years ,she found favor in the eyes of her employers and was promoted up to the grade of assistant nursing superintendant [ANS] .
She was the pioneer matron of CDC cottage hospital Tiko , a position she held from 1986 to 1991.
In august 1991 she was transfeered in the same capacity to the CDC hospital Laduma , Mukonje where she served until she retired in 1994. She then moved into her her preventive street Kumba residence where she lived quietly until her death .
During her active years in service she was decorated with the labour gold medal and the Cameroon national order of merit[ordre de merit Cameroonaise ]for her service to the Cameroonian nation .
Mama Chalotte was very caring and loving to her family and all those who came across her . Apart from her biological children whom she raised , she also brought up many other relatives and children of her friends .
She was kind hearted , quiet and soft spoken , it is not surprising that her friends were comfortable to allow their children to stay with her.
She was knowned as a peace broker in the large NTUBA CLAN. She would
stand for the truth most times to her own inconvenience to have the clan togehter.
She was baptized and communicant christian of the presbyteriannchurch in Cameroon and also a chorister with Eyemba choir of P.C KUMBA TOWN .
Her BROTHERS AND SISTERS are, minister George Ntuba of late , late Governor Walson Mboe Ntuba . MME Ruth Ntuba , Mme Sarah Ntuba , Mme Mispa Fule Ntuba Itoe , Mr Oscar Ndi Ntuba ,Mme Yohgema Ntuba Sona and Mme Kidi Ntuba Makia .
Among her children are Mme Joyce Noto Nwengela , late Mme Grace Ntuba , Mr Ebenizer Ntuba , Mr Victor Etoh Ntuba and Mme Gloria Ntuba Jua .
She had twelve grand children some of who are , Mr Penda Nwengela [USA] DR IWENI Nwengela Geyfman[USA] , Mr Bell Ntuba Mintamark,[SOUTH AFRICA] Ms Ayaisha AGBOR , , Engineer Bokuba Nwengela [USA], Bokeng Nwengela [USA] Ekalle Mukwelle Ntuba , and Ms Paulia Jua a medical student in Buea university . At the time of her death her grand children had given her three great grand children in sum .she also left behind many nieces , nephews, Iinlaws and a host of family members and friends to mourn her.
Ma Charlotte was the vice president general of the entire Ntuba clan , assisting her cousin Mr Allison Ntuba who was president .
Mama Chalotte Bokeng Ntuba famostly called sister/grandmom by family met her death on the 25th march 2011 when she was hit by a motor vehicle in Barombi kang Kumba .
