Charles Dean "Chuck" Janecek, 54, of Dodge died September 26, 2005 as the result of an automobile accident north of Snyder.

Chuck was born January 19, 1951 at West Point to Frank and Marita Ernesti Janecek. He grew up on the family farm north of Dodge and attended St. Wenceslaus Catholic Grade School. He graduated from Dodge High School with the class of 1969. On September 24, 1971 he married Jeri Ann Hilbers at St. Leo''s Catholic Church in Snyder. Chuck served his country with the United States Marine Corps from 1969 until 1973. He returned to the farm where he spent his life farming.

He was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Dodge American Legion, and had served as an officer on the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Scholl Board. He loved fishing, hunting, football and farming.

Survivors include his wife, Jeri of Dodge, daughter Jennifer (Mitchell) Schmidt of Omaha, granddaughters Lauren and Abigail Schmidt and son Joel of Broken Bow.
