His Life

Mr. Charles E. Billingslea, the son of the late John Lee and Willie Lee (Baker) Billingslea was born April 10, 1948 in Troup County, GA.  He departed this life on Monday, February 18, 2013 at Lanier Health Services, Valley, and AL.

At an early age, Charles accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and united with the St. John Baptist Church under the leadership of the Rev. C. C. Cloud.

Charles, a product of the West Point Public Schools, was a 1966 graduate of Harrison High School. After his completion of high school, Charles enrolled in Tyler University, Tyler, TX, where he received a Bachelor’s of Science Degree.

Charles was a US Army Vietnam veteran.

In his free time he enjoyed fishing, listening to music and dancing. He was a friend to all that knew him.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Joann Burton, Alice Billingslea, Katie Darden and three brothers, Jesse Billingslea, Essie Billingslea and Walter Billingslea.

He leaves to cherish his memories, three sisters, Christine Reed, Beulah Bonner, Columbus, OH; Barbara Roberts, Detroit, MI; one brother, Johnny F. (Ilene) Billingslea, Webster, NY; one brother-in-law, Rev. Walter L. Darden, Sr., West Pint, GA; aunts, uncles, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends
