Charlie Compton Sadler, 88, a lifetime resident of Granville County passed away Friday, March 9, 2018 at Granville Medical Center.

Compton was born December 21, 1929 in Granville County to the late Charlie Perry and Rebecca Wagstaff Sadler. He graduated from Wilton High School and Fullers Business College. Compton was a member of West Oxford Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He was a veteran, proudly serving his Country in the US Army. After forty years of service, he retired from Mt. Hope Finishing Company in Butner. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 13, 2018 in the Eakes Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Jeff Hensley. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

Surviving are his wife of sixty-two years, Blanche Wilkins Sadler of the home; his daughter, Vickie Sadler Watkins of Oxford, his son, Barry Sadler (Cindy) of Oxford; three granddaughters, Dayna Watkins, Alyssa Sadler and Adison Sadler; two grandsons, Nolan Watkins and Andrew Sadler. He was preceded in death by infant daughter, Janice Sadler; three sisters, Inez S. Suitt, Hilda S. Lynch, Frances S. Matsick and a brother, Chester Sadler.

Visitation will be held prior to the funeral service Tuesday, March 13, 2018 from 12:30 – 2:45 at Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford and at other times at the home.

Flowers are kindly accepted or memorials may be made to West Oxford Baptist Church, P.O. Box 458, Oxford, N.C. 27565.

Blanche, I am so sorry to hear about Compton,Aunt Pat called me this morning! My prayers and love go with you and all the family. I will be unable to attend the service,due to a commitment I have so will be out of the state at that time. Again,please extend my condolences to all the family,love to all Mary Ellen
