Charlotte Jane Brane: A life well lived

Charlotte Jane Fansler Brane, 82, of Bay Village Ohio died on February 17th 2016. “CJ” Charlotte, daughter of Lester and Elva Fansler of Wexford PA, passed away on February 17th peacefully at her home of natural causes.

Charlotte was born on March 2, 1933 in Wexford Pennsylvania and was the youngest of 4 siblings. She was preceded in death by Lester Jr., Ruth, and Elva.

Charlotte always had a kind word for everyone. She was a very forgiving person and had a strong work ethic. She had a great love of nature and the woods and was very fond of birds and flowers of all sorts. Charlotte showed and displayed artistic talent and was an accomplished musician on the piano and organ; she was teaching herself how to play guitar. Her favorite music was classical piano and the music of the 1940’s and 50’s. She enjoyed spending time at home amongst the many trees, ferns and wildlife on her property in Bay Village. She recently celebrated 50 years of residing in her home on January 31, 2015. She was very devoted to her children, grandkids and great grandkids and was involved in their lives on a daily basis.

Her surviving family members are numerous, including:

Mother to 3 Children & Spouses/Partners: Ralph Jr. and Janet (Mesker) Brane of Delaware Ohio, Rodger and Doreen (Deyling) Brane of Broadview Heights Ohio,  Rhonda Brane and Shane Heflin of Amarillo Texas.

Grandmother to 6 & Spouses: Chris and Kelly (Markioli) Knaack, Leah (Brane) and Andrew Sisler, Patrick and Michelle (Corwin) Brane, Stephen and Jennifer (Cole) Brane, Natalie Kreidler, Gerald Kreidler.

Great Grandmother to 15: Brandon, Madeline, Sullivan and Cody Knaack. Olivia, Andrew “Max”, Ava, Eleanor and Isabella Sisler. Cameron and Charlotte Brane. Adelee, Grady, Raegan and Harlow Brane.

Former Spouse and Father to her children: Ralph Brane Sr.

This remembrance is written by her children, in honor of our dearest mother. It is our tribute to her memory, which will be carried on in the legacy of love which is now each of us – the lives she formed and touched by her love.

Charlotte was my sister's (Janet Brane) mother-in-law. We always included her as she was "family". Very sad that she is gone. She always amazed me with her knowledge, strength, babysitting and all that she did. We can only strive to be like her.

i could not have asked for a better mother-in-law. Charlotte was always kind, generous and thoughtful. We both loved to read books and I will miss trading books with her. Rest in peace Mom CJ.

Jane was my cousin. Our fathers were brothers. Since she grew up in Pennsyvania and I in Ohio, we did not see each other frequently in our youth. Although I have not seen Jane (as we always knew her), for several years, I remember her fondly. My sympathies to her family.
