REMEMBERING CHIEF OBEWU UKEGBU ONWUKAH (OBU ENYI) OCTOBER 12, 1943 - JUNE 17, 2015

June 18, 2021
Its exactly six years today that you sojourned to glory. It matters not how a man dies, but how he lived. The act of dying is not of importance, it lasts so short a time.”  Chief Obewu Ukegbu Onwukah lived for humanity. He lived for family. He lived for country and, above all, he lived and honored God with his substance. “We all die. The goal isn’t to live forever, the goal is to create something that will”. However’ the tears is still flowing even when we accepted “God giveth and God taketh”.

Once in every generation, God sends that one person who comes along with refreshing energy, impacts us so affectionately; uplifts our spirits, energizes and inspires us to greater ideals beyond ourselves before bowing out at God’s time, quietly, but with Grace just like the Saints marching onto glory, that man was Chief Obewu Ukegbu Onwukah (Obuenyi Ejeubi of Abiriba-Kingdom).
Obuenyi, evokes the very essence of divine mandate, the core and all of true humanity, the priceless worth of celestial benevolence and the sheer beauty of purified compassion etched in unfailing love to all and sundry, crested with abiding devotion to God Almighty and furnished with unfettered flow of abundance; not just of earthly wealth and splendor but of enduring values and life itself. Obuenyi came, saw, and conquered. Obuenyi had it all.
Obuenyi, OU.,as he was fondly called, meant so many things to so many people. To some, he was the Prince of Nde Nnem Ebulu &
Ndi Onwukah family of Abiriba, Industralist , entrepreneur. To others, Obuenyi was a repository of prodigious resources and a philanthropist per excellence. But in all, he epitomized hard work, love and enduring service to humanity. Obewu was a man who has done great things and has left indelible marks on the sands of time. Obuenyi, we love you today, tomorrow and forever, but God loves you more. Kaa Enyi, continue to rest in the bosom of the the Lord Jesus Christ with lots of love Amen..
                                                Chief Mrs. Monica Nma Onwukah
