"My grandmother made this world a better place and now heaven will be blessed with another angel, she is missed by everyone that had the privilege to know her. My mema always made me smile, and laugh everytime I saw her, l can only aspire to be half the woman, wife, mother, sister, daughter and friend that she was and still is in heaven, my pepa and aunt Tracey are now reunited with her and I know she is watching down on us. I'm beyond heart broken to see the pain my mother is in her heart is broken with the loss of her mother and best friend. My world will forever be changed without her here. Mema I know your listening to these words if I didn't tell you enough that I love you, I'm sorry, your passing has made me realize that life is too short and that in a blink of an eye someone you love can be gone.I will miss Christmas with you and your amazing ability to create that Norman Rockwell picture will forever live in my heart, I can go on and on about everything you blessed me and this world with but  I would never be able to finish this tribute. "Jadessa's nana was a wonderful woman. She was always kind and opened her door, sharing her family with me when I was very young and virtually a stranger. I will never forget weekends and holiday celebrations that I was able to share with her and her amazing family. As Alicia said, her cooking was always amazing, especially the scalloped potatoes!! I remember the home-made chocolate peanut butter balls, too - a favorite of everyone. Although we have been out of contact for many years there will always be a special place in my heart for her and I appreciate that she always did her best to stay in touch with her grandchild like she did. I am also so grateful that she and I got to have a conversation about a year ago to catch up with each other. I am sad but I know she is in a better place now with loved ones that were waiting for her. My heart goes out to the Shann family and my daughter Jadessa and my thoughts and prayers are with all of you."

"I lost my grandma. She was the best grandma anyone could ever ask for. There were a bunch of things she was great at but, I'll miss her cooking the most of all. She was an amazing cook and was wonderful at using her cooking to being people together. I loved her laugh, sense of humor, open mind, and caring nature. The world did just loose a great person and heaven gain another angel. When I loose someone close, I always find myself thinking about an after life. I pray she is in heaven getting her wings sized while catching up with her lost loved ones. I hope my grandpa is happy that he can be with her again, my aunt Tracey is happy to get close with her again, and my cousin Robert happy to play with her again. Im hurting knowing I will never see her again. Im hurting that my mom is hurting because she just lost her best friend and mom. I also hurting because my son lost his great grandma and he really did love his GG. Overall she was a beautiful, talented, caring, strong, smart woman who wasn't afraid to tell u how it was. She was an excellent mom, wife, sister, grandma, and great grandma. She will be missed. I wish I had more time with her here, but I get by believing she is in a better place and this isn't goodbye forever."
