Claude Thomas Cox, 73, a lifelong resident of Granville County passed away April 2, 2015 at his home.

A native of Granville County, the son of the late Willie and Mary Lovella Hutson Cox. He was a member of Hester Baptist Church, an avid farmer and retired from Crowder Logging. He was a loving uncle and father figure to all his nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, April 6, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. in the Eakes Funeral Home Chapel in Oxford by Rev. Terry Howard and Rev. Alex Gallimore. Burial will be in Hester Baptist Church Cemetery.

Surviving are four sisters; Lucille Cox, Betsy C. Reese, Jean C. Elliott, and Bernice Cox all of Oxford, a brother, Donnie Ray Cox of Oxford, eight nieces and seven nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Alice C. Elliott, two brothers; William Cox and Collie Cox.

Visitation will be held Monday, April 6, 2015 from 12:30 – 2:00 P.M. prior to the service at Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford and at other times the home.

Feel like we knew him so well through Melinda and Bill.  Kept him so close with how they spoke of him. We admire the love and devotion that was shown to Claude through out his life time. We will keep the family in our thoughts and prayers.  GOD has received another angel!
