New Years
There was this crazy beautiful expression that went right over you mothers face on New Years eve. You remember that Lil C? We were all acting like animals messing around and you pulled out some science on her. She was always ready for you and your questions. I think it was because of those bags she taught us all about you got it in your head some wild mess about bottle rockets. I still remember your face and all the G's faces when she attached a bunch of alcohol soaked cotton to those rockets. Who could have known the colors those things would produce? Nobody! Just like we could not predict those things would off and set some stuff on fire from running off because of that stuff. Not a day goes back that we don't talk about you and your mother. You were a great kid and she is a great woman. One of the best. We see you in the sky every time the stars shine. Live on C. Always.
your mom is awesome.
Fire & Soap
C was pretty bored. Running up and down the stairs creating chaos and going back and forth from computers to things outside and digging through every cabinet and closet. Those of us who were there were pretty surprised that his mother just smiled it off. Any other woman would have been pulling her hair out but not Rain. Instead, when she finished what she was doing, she went outside and started tying garbage bags in knots and hanging them from the tree. C always had his eyes on her. When he saw this he had a look on his face like he was worried his mother had just gone completely insane. He went outside where some of us were watching her and looked up at the bags hanging and put his hand on Rains back and asked what she was doing. For a moment, he seemed almost like a concerned doctor. She looked at him and said, "we are going to make colored fired" and he smiled so big. She handed him a wand lighter and told him to pick a bag. Each one was different. C lit each one, one by one absolutely amazed and stunned at the difference in the speed that they burned and the colors that came off of them individually. When he was finished with the last one he told us all how bad everything smelled. So his mother took him inside and handed him a bar of soap and told him to microwave it. He must have watched that soap for a good 10 minutes. When he was finished, he went straight to his computer and started researching why the bags reacted to the fire the way they did and why the soap reacted the way it did. In no more than 30 minutes, she calmed him down, captured his attention and induced a need to learn something new which kept him busy for hours. C was a kid full of life, love and respect. And Rain is easily the best mother that's existed. She had all the time in the world when it came to C and the way she interacted with him was proof of that. You both will forever be in our prayers. Bless.
