I won't complain.......

May 12, 2012

It was one summer day a few years ago, I was visiting 90 Nelson St. which many would remember back then several family members resided there and some still are there til this day.  Well as usual, Cleven would stop by his families apartment and see if anyone were in need of anything.  I learned this was a routine practice that Cleven had with his family members in particularly his Aunt Queen, Aunt Mattie, Aunt Macy and Aunt Hattie.  I'll put it like this, they would be waiting for Junior on some days to arrive.   Oh yeah.....many family and close friends called him Junior.

I was there on this one day like I mentioned and Junior had just returned from going shopping for Aunt Queen.  He came in with a hand full of bags from the grocery store.  You can tell he was so glad to feel the coolness of an air conditioner.  It was so hot that day, he had a towel around his neck to wipe off the sweat.

Anyway, as he placed the groceries in the kitchen and smoothly walked (you all remember cousin Junior had a smooth walk) in the living room to relax.  A voice from the kitchen (Aunt Queen) said, "Junior you know I forgot to add black pepper on the list".

Junior looked toward the kitchen and replied in his soft spoken voice, "No problem Auntie I'll go back to the store".  Without hesitation, he got up and was on his way back to the store.

Never not once have I heard him complain about doing things for them.   Junior was committed for many years in being there for his Aunts & Uncles when they needed him.

Cousin Junior you are now with many of our beloved family members. May you all forever rest in peace until we meet again.

Love You!
Regina
