Tribute from the late Maazi I.J. Ezuma's Family

October 30, 2012

Dr. and Mrs. Obi Obioha and entire family of C Moore Obioha,
I grew up knowing Ozomee as one of my father's best friends. The friendship extended to my family, siblings and to all Ozuomee's family. We lived less than one mile apart on the same road in Aba City, Nigeria. Ozoumee has been a father, friend and confidant that I could talk to; he talked to me as he would talk to any of his children. He was very generous with his time, friendship and wealth. My family and I will miss him, just as his family. Mazi, your time on this Earth was well lived by your generosity friendship and your humanitarian endeavors. May your soul rest in peace.

Uche Ezuma On behalf of the late Mazi I.J. Ezuma's family

DEMISE OF AN ICON

October 16, 2012
It is with deep shock and grief that we received the sad news of the exit of one of the remaining social and economic heavy weights  of Arondizuogu, Chief Dr. C. Moore Obioha. Ozuo Omee1 of Arondizuogu, as he was famously known, was an icon and a legend. I said an Icon and a legend because that was what Chief Dr. C. Moore Obioha truly represented. Chief Dr. C. Moore Obioha helped popularize Arondizuogu in Eastern Nigeria, and in fact, in the entire Nigerian Nation, in the 1970s and 1980s with the Peoples’ Club International where his name would ostensibly and audibly be blasted as “Chief C. Moore Obioba, Ozuo Omee1 of Arondizuogu, Onye Oma N’isolu bili.” in that historic People’s Club International Music Album. He hailed from NdiAniche Uno, Arondizuogu , Nigeria .

Chief C. Moore Obioha was the founder of C. Moore Obioha Holdings, and remained the Chairman for many years. In that company, he employed many people including several of our Arondizuogu sons and daughters, and made some of our people Area Representatives in the major cities of Nigeria . He made several handsome donations at fundraisers/launchings for Arondizuogu causes. Ozuo Omee1 of Arondizuogu was also a two-term President-General of Arondizuogu Patriotic Union (APU), following the likes of Mazi Reuben Egbuonu of Ndiejezie that were APU President-Generals from Aba , Nigeria . He was truly a great patriot and a notable philanthropist.

Ozuo Omee1 of Arondizuogu was the father of many successful Arondizuogu sons and daughters including Dr. Obii Obioha of APU Houston (son), Mazi Amobi Obioha of APU Greater New York (son) and daughters-in-law Ada Mazi Edith Obioha of APU Houston and Ada Mazi Oby Obioha of APU Greater New York, Mrs. Kanu (daughter) married to Mazi Eni Kanu of Arochukwu residing in Houston, and several sons and daughters in Nigeria and other parts of the world. Some of the nephews and nieces include Mazi Chimere Obioha ( Detroit ), Mazi Chijioke Obioha ( Detroit ), and Ada Mazi Edith Nnadi ( Boston ).  The passing of Ozuo Omee1 of Arondizuogu has created a vacuum to Arondizuogu and reminds us that Arondizuogu has witnessed the exit of a generation from this earth.

Please extend your comforting hands and condolence message to the family of C. Moore Obioha by reaching Dr. Obii Obioha in Houston, Mazi Amobi Obioha in New York , and all the other nephews and nieces. Please join me in bidding a grand farewell to an icon and a legend of a generation in our dear town, Arondizuogu. Let's join hands at this time to pray God, the Almighty Father, to grant the soul of our Ozuo Omee, Chief Dr. C. Moore Obioha, eternal rest. Amen!

Remain blessed.

Mazi IG. Okoro

Chairman of APU-NCNA
