Her Life
February 3, 2012

Mrs. Cosie  Oliver Toney, "Bigmama" was  born October 27, 1913 to the late Eddie and Sallie Toney in Coosa County.

Sis. Oliver united with Peace & Goodwill Missionary Baptist Church at an early age and later in life moved her membership to Hollins Springs Missionary Baptist Church where she served as an active and faithful member, serving on the Missionary Board and in other various church capacities until her health failed.

Our Loving Heavenly Father returned for His angel. "Bigmama" on January 28, 2012 at Coosa Valley Medical Center, Sylacauga, Alabama.

Sis. Oliver was preceded in death by her loving husband Hosie Oliver, parents Ed and Sallie Toney and by seven siblings.

Sis. Oliver was a devoted mother, grandmother, aunt and friend who loved and shared her love unconditionally with everyone she encountered. She shared wisdom where wisdom was needed and her smile lit up a room brighter than the sun in the sky. Sis. Oliver was one who if she could not help you, she would not hurt you. She spoke ill of no one and firmly believed and shared with others her testimony and famous sayings, "Love is the key that unlocks the door to the kingdom and without love you have nothing and you can not get into the Kingdom." Sister Oliver will truly be missed by all that knew her.

She leaves to cherish her memories: Two loving caring and devoted daughters, Annie Hill of Alexander City, AL and Geraldine (Emerson-deceased) Cook of Sylacauga, AL. One sister, Currie L. Finner of Chicago, IL. Grandchil dren: Nevea (Melton) Tarbet of Opelika, AL; Aretha (Bobby) Holley of Alexander City, AL. Christopher (Tenitha) Hill, Columbus, OH; Timothy Cook, Regina Cook, Derrick, Greta Casey, Tracey (Shun) Cook, all of Sylacauga, AL. Fifteen (15) great grandchildren, numerous great great grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. She will be missed by all who knew her.
