Here are all the pics of the toasts from his birthday celebration....
My time with Curtis
Curtis and I went to bootcamp together(different plts tho) we didnt actually talk until SOI, where i came to know Curtis. we had a few laughs here and there. Then we found out that we were going to 29 palms together to check into the same company, Suicide Charley. it was a reliefe knowing i was gonna have someone i actually knew and talked to, to go with. but we didnt start hangin out outside of work until a little bit after we checked in. i had just gotten a car, a 2004 mustang GT i might add(it was a boot thing i know), and we started going to Long Beach together. there were some weekend id drop him off at his house in West Covina, and other times wed hang out at my parents house. that was the routine for a very good while. every friday wed talk about goin home, id ask if he was comin over or if i was dropping him off, hed sit and think for a bit and then say, "ill come over, fuck it. you can drop me off at my house next weekend." after work wed pack up, hop in the car and cruise on home with my radio literally turned ALL the way up listening to Atreyu rockin our asses off. im really suprised we didnt blow any speakers. any how, we would do a few different things while on or lil vacation from work, like get tattoos done by a friend in a garage because we THOUGHT it was a good idea, that was when Curtis got those to lil birds on his chest. cant really remember why he got them, all i know is he said "my mom used to call me curty birdy" i laughedand said "awww thats cute" and proceeded to call him that through out the weekend. but what we did most was play beer pong, and man were we good. i have a lot of memories with Curtis, but the one i will never forget, and always laugh at,was the time my wife and i went to his house in WC one night. i show up and Curtis already had a wizard staff of bud light cans goin. we proceeded to drink, jager bombs, beer, more jager bombs.were all hangin out in the backyard when Curtis goes inside for something. it had been a minute when we realised he wasnt back yet so myself, Rachel(my wife) and Hailey(his gf at the time) went inside only to find him pased out on the couch. and yes he had his shoes on. i grabbed a sharpy and told hailey to sit with him and rub his head so he wouldnt wake up. i think you all know what happend next. well after we were done, i took a pic and we went back outside where shortly after Curtis rejoins us completely oblivious to the art work on his face, arm and leg. i immedietly started laughing uncontrolablly. he asked me what i was laughing at, i got up and said " hey chck out this pic my buddy sent me" showed him the picture, and he looked at it for a while. he laughed a bit until he realised it was himself he was lookin at. he yelled "oh what the fuck!' and ran inside to his brothers room to ask if there was stuff on his face, to which his brother replied with uncontrolable laughter. needless to say he was definately upset with us, but hey, who wouldnt be upset. the next morning, everything was good and we laughed about it. i will forever miss Curtis. we shared a lot of good times together. he will be in my heart till the day i see him again. until then, im sure hes keeping the gates of heaven safe. Rest in peace brother, we will meet again.
Visit to Solvang
Curtis had taken some leave and gone with us to visits some friends that we have known from our teenage years. My buddy Clay told us that we could go and catch some big catfish at this lake up near them. We laid on an outing for a day and thought that we would be pulling in the big one's. Unfortunately all we caught was a buzz from the beers that were consumed, but I would not of traded it for the world....
