Daddy,

You are missed so much daily. We can't believe it's already 4 years since we last saw you or heard your voice. So much has changed and things will never be the same without you in our lives.

We pray that you continue to rest in eternal peace.

Love you and miss you dearly.

We miss you dearly. May you continue to rest in the Lord

Life they say is transient.   I am still in shock that “Double Chief” is no more.   The day before the news of your demise, while searching through some documents, I found a very lovely photograph from your daughter’s traditional marriage in Umunumo.   As I looked at the photograph, it reminded me of the last telephone conversation I had with you and I thought: I should call Double Chief because it has been a while since I spoke with him.   But alas! I learnt the following day that you had already passed on.   The bible says “Many are the plans in a person's heart, but it is the LORD's purpose that prevails.”   Double Chief, I will miss your candour.   Sleep well Dearest Double Chief.

To God be the Glory

My Dad loved the hymn by that title. I remember fondly singing it with him in English and Igbo. I still cannot believe that I will not see that smile or hear that laugh any more on Earth. It is not fully possible to express how much you have meant to so many people. I pray that we will do you proud and honor your memory by allowing God water and tend the good seeds you have sown. Thank you to everyone who has shown my family love and sent well wishes during this dark time. Keep us in your prayers and cherish those who are close to you while you have them . . .

To God be the glory, great things He has done;
So loved He the world that He gave us His Son,
Who yielded His life an atonement for sin,
And opened the life gate that all may go in.

Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
Let the earth hear His voice!
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
Let the people rejoice!
O come to the Father, through Jesus the Son,
And give Him the glory, great things He has done.

O perfect redemption, the purchase of blood,
To every believer the promise of God;
The vilest offender who truly believes,
That moment from Jesus a pardon receives.

(Refrain)

Great things He has taught us, great things He has done,
And great our rejoicing through Jesus the Son;
But purer, and higher, and greater will be
Our wonder, our transport, when Jesus we see.

Uncle Cy

June 10, 2013

Uncle Cy, it is so sad to hear that you are no more. My siblings and I have always loved you and admired you since we were kids. You are one person we always look forward to seeing when we go home to Umunumo. We admired your achievements in life, though I don't know your children very well, we are all proud of what they have grown to become, just like you very successful.
Uncle Cy, we will miss you so much. We pray that the Good Lord will grant your beautiful family the fortitude to bear your absence.
