The pic tells it all Dag was a very good friend and I know we all miss him. But the  best part is, all my memories are GOOD and all my thought Dag are conforting.

Another Vanguard Conference - this time in LA.

This picture was taken near Third Street Promenade. To the right of Dag is the Santa Monica Pier. Getting a chance to check out the city prior to conference has become a tradition - and I was happy to always coordinate a little get away especially when we get to do a little shopping.

On this little get away we saw a performance by Naia Kete (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naia_Kete) who ended up being a contestant on the Voice a few years later. This young singer sang her heart out - in fact we ended up buying her CD because her voice was so amazing.

I was running late for my plane and Dag and co-worker Barbara Bancod were kind enough to convince the pilot to hold the plane for me. Yes I got a lot of sideways looks for holding up the flight but thank goodness for wonderful co-workers. Dag told me he sweet talked the flight attendants ;). Once we arrived in Jacksonville we had a little time to ourselves to explore the city. This picture is Dag in front of the HMS Bounty. Commissioned by MGM for the movie Mutiny on the Bounty. Of course Dag was a wealth of knowledge and knew all about it's history. After we took this photo we encountered a bunch of pirates. Our conference was hosted at the same hotel as a Tall ship convention and our hotel was loaded with pirates in full costumes. What a memorable way to kick off our 2009 conference.

Some of us know that when you work as hard as a Vanguard employee especially at the conference we find ways to unwind and relax. This is one of those times - unwinding with co-workers and of course no matter stress we were all under Dag was always laughing
