DANIEL A. ANKENE's BIOGRAPHY

Daniel Ankene was born on the 29th of January 1964 in Nkun Ngwo, NW Province of Cameroon, to Mama Frida Aboh Ankene and Late Pa Ankene. At the age of about two, he was given to Mami Susana Ntah and Pa Joseph Ntah when they both got married. They raised him as their first child. They moved down with him to the South West Province. Between 1970 and 1976, he attended Government School Bota-Limbe (then Victoria). Between 1976 and 1981 he attended Baptist Boys Secondary School BBSS (now BHS) Buea, where he obtained his GCE Ordinary Levels. Between 1982 and 1984, he went to high school at Government High School Limbe, where he obtained his GCE Advanced Levels.

After his high school, he gained admission into the University of Yaoundé. He was there for a short period and was awarded a scholarship to study in Russia. In 1985 he moved to Russia, and first attended the Minsk State University in Belarus where he studied the Russian language. He later attended the Kharkov State University in Ukraine reading for a straight 4-year Master’s degree in Mathematics. In 1989, he transferred to the State Pedagogic University of Volgograd, Russia, where he obtained his Masters in Mathematics and Informatics (Computer Science). In 1995, he enrolled in the Academy of Public Service, Volgograd, Russia, where he obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Public Administration.

He came back to Cameroon in 1997. He taught Mathematics at Mevic Bilingual Grammar School. He also taught Mathematics at GHS Nyasoso between 1998 and 2005. Before he moved to the United States in 2006, he was an Assistant Lecturer at the Faculty of Education, Department of Curriculum Studies and Teaching, University of Buea. Before he died, he was actively employed at Wal-Mart and Securitas. He died leaving behind his mother, sisters, brother, uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends to mourn him.
