His Life
February 11, 2012

Daniel was born with bilateral talipes,or what is more commonly known as clubfoot, bilateral meaning both of his feet were affected,he went through many operations and lots of physiotherapy,it slowed down his progress when it came to things like running, climbing stairs and lots of other things that other children of his age found easy to achieve,as he grew older things got easier for him,he rode a bike, climbed trees, played football, made dens, but because he had a different way of walking(it looked like he was skipping along)he suffered a fare amount of taunting and bullying, but he never complained,,he just got on with things,he developed a good taste in music, singing his head off to his favourite songs, these ranged from songs by Lily Allen.U2,The Ting Tings,OMD,Elvis,The Sugababes,Girls aloud, and many more,He loved his Power Rangers,Spiderman and WWE Wrestling,he was mad on food like indian and chinese, and he had decided for himself that at ten yrs old he was too old for ''happy meals''and wanted Big Macs instead,And mini fillets at kfc instead of nuggets. In June 2008,Daniel suddenly began to feel''unwell'',he felt weak and tired,he had no energy, over a period of a couple of weeks we took him to the doctors, then the hospital, only to be sent home being told its ''just a tummy bug'',in the end ,because he had lost a lot of weight, medical people took notice and he was admitted to booth hall children's hospital, after tests and biopsies he was diagnosed with Juvenile Dermatomyositis,(JDM),a rare disease that has an 80% fatality rate, after six weeks in booth hall he started to suffer severe fits,he turned yellow and was immediately transferred to pendlebury ICU in Salford,At pendlebury,it was discovered that Daniel was suffering from Macrophage Activation Syndrome,(MAS),this was brought on by the JDM,The MAS was responsible for the fits,it was causing swelling on his brain and causing damage to his Liver and Kidneys,The medical team weren't happy and needed to find the route cause of all these problems, they did plasma screens and discovered Daniel also had a condition called Thrombotic Thromocytopenic Purpura,(TTP),this is a condition he would have had since birth,Daniel started to feel a little better after 2-3 months in ICU,Then suddenly he started coughing and got a high temperature,He was given scans and they found he was now in the grip of a deadly fungal infection called Aspergillosis, brought by his low immune system and treatment related, this infection attacked all his organs, blinded him in one eye, damaged his lungs, brain, liver, kidneys, spleen, and his pancreas, which inevitably led to Daniel contracting Pancreatitis,Daniel fought long and hard against all of this, and so did all the medical staff at pendlebury, but sadly,on the 16th February 2009 at 12.20am,,Daniel died peacefully in his mothers and fathers arms,he was under a mild sedation and pain free,he was fast asleep and just stopped breathing, his heart stopped and he was gone,,no pain,no more fight, and held at the time of death by both parents,Daniel wouldnt have known a thing, but he knew that we,his mum and dad were holding him and that we loved him.Another star went into the early morning sky at 12.20am that day,a star called Daniel,,our Daniel, rest in the heavens now Daniel, you fought your hardest battle, now its time to sleep.we will love you always....xxxxxxxxxx
