Big Brother

November 1, 2013

I do have many memories...I do think mom loved Dan best, she cooked his favorite foods well done to the point of being burnt...I would have done anything for Dan as I idolized him.  My friends all thought he was so cute.  We all thought he looked like Beaver's big brother Wally on the T. V. show  "Leave It to Beaver".

Thanks Dan for the memories you are the best big brother I ever had.

My Big Brother

October 31, 2013
Hi Dan! Well, here we are celebrating your life and your early years off to war! What a milestone you've accomplished! I remember sending you some care packages. You probably liked the black licorice best!!! I am so proud of both of my brothers fighting for our freedom. Once or twice, you let me take out your prized possession "black impala" car! I think I snuck it out at least once and never got caught!!! Oh, and then there was the (pizza issue). You liked me the best (ha), so I got a piece to myself once in a great while. Otherwise, we, Peg, Mary, Bev, Mike and I only got a bite!! Dix was at school in Yankton then. Thankfully, you and Jerry Bauermeister knew each other and it opened the door for him to ask me out on a date. I hit the jackpot!! I think it was love at first site!! After dating a couple of years, and our wedding plans for September, 1969, your service duty threw a wrench into our plans. You couldn't get home from the service to give me away and then, FINALLY, we got married on Feb. 7, 1970, one of the best days of my life!! Thank you for being my big brother! You are a good soul. How lucky to have Michael and Shari, along with Bev, Sandy, Scott and Brenda in our lives. You deserve this honor of celebration! May God bless you always! Love, your sister, Mick.

From your youngest sister

October 29, 2013

I'm your youngest sister. How lucky you are to have 5 of us and oh how mom spoiled you. I guess i have you to thank for Rick-and Drew and Ricci, Jordan and Taylin. Little sisters idolize their big brothers. i remember how scared i was when my brother had to leave to go and fight in a war i did not understand. Never sure if you were ever coming home again. Having lost my father a few years earlier, being a girl of 14 it was hard for me to accept that my big brother was leaving also. thank god you made it through the army days and came back to us. I am not only proud of you for the time you served to help to protect us all but also for the man you became and the success you have enjoyed in your life. If you never accomplish another thing in life, i will always be thankful for you for giving us Mike and Shari.  Love ya always and forever! BEV
