The Dash

April 26, 2011

There was a man who stood to speak at a funeral of a friend. He referred to the date on his tombstone from the beginning to the end.

He noted that first came the date of his birth (3-21-68), and spoke the following date with tears, but he said what happened " What mattered most of all was the dash between those years.

For the dash stands for all the time that he spent alive on earth, and now only those who loved him no what matters is we lived and loved and how we spend our dash.

So think about this long and hard.....Are there things you would like to change? For you never know how much time you have left that still could be arranged.

If we could just slow down enough to consider whats true and real and always try to understand the way other people feel.

We'd be less quick to anger and show our appreciation more and love the people in our lives.....like we have NEVER loved before.

If  we treat each-other with respect and more often wear a smile.....Remembering that special dash might only last awhile.

So when your eulogy is being read with your life's actions to rehash.....Would you be proud of the things they say about how you spent your dash!

What matters is how much you live and love and how you spent your dash......3/21/1968 to 4/12/2011

     Dan,

I never got to tell you how much I appreciated you for all you have done for me and our kids. Thank you for being part of my life! I have nothing but good memories of you! You were a great, giving, and unselfish father and I am extremely grateful for that.....You were their rock.....when I couldn't be. So Dan you go with GOD now you have served your time and purpose here on earth.....You've done a great job, you go and rest now and I will finish what you started. ;)
