Trailer Falls Off Truck

July 8, 2014

I was over visiting my neighbour in Coe Hill we were sharing stories. I was telling her about the time Dave and I had taken his children camping. I did not know his children as he had spent little time with them. It is sad when marriage breaks down and children do not get to know the other parent. We had a fantastic time camping at Serpent Mounds. We had the boat fished had a campfire just all around a great few days. We  had to return to work had packed up drove into the city. I needed to go to the bank in the North end. We were just entering the parking lot there was a bump we drove over. I looked back the scamper went off the truck hydraulics lowered the legs and it was just standing there. It was a blessing as it could have landed on a car or caused an accident. Dave got the truck back positioned under the trailer and reloaded it. We were laughing on what a site it was people looking and looking surprised we did not end up in the news. Thank God we did not it was a great holiday. I did get to meet his children spent some time unfortunatley the years past there were not anymore camping trips such as this one.

Grandmothers House

January 27, 2014

Dave told me how he spent much time at his Grandmothers house. She lived in the south end of Peterborough he loved going there and playing with the neighbourhood kids. Dave told me that his Mother and Grandmother were walking together one day. This was before his Mom and Dad had met when walking by a young man.
Theresa Dave's Mother said to her Mother " I am going to marry that man" . Well low and behold she did. Dave attended St. John's School before moving to Emerald Ise. He mentioned how he loved growing up there boating, swimming and fishing. The only thing he did not like was that he could not be on the wrestling team in high school. Dave just loved wrestling but do to transportion issues was excluded from being a team member. That he mentioned disappointed him. Dave told me how his Mom was from a large family that she was close to her Mother. They spent alot of time there. We would spend many hours talking about a variety of things and his growing up years.

Dear Dave

December 23, 2013

I just wanted one more day

That I could hold your hand

One more day to tell you I missed you being around

But stresses of life drew us apart

That was not our plan from the start

We all say things we do not mean

I loved you from the very start

Things got in the way and broke my heart

One thing you taught many

Is say what you need to say

We all like to thing tomorrow is in site

But we never know when the Lord

Will take our hand and guide us to the light

Tell your loved ones everyday

Sometimes we are not given one more day

As we are only promised today!

Love Debbie
