David and Stan
This picture was taken when the Winterport Fire Department came to visit with David. They brought a wonderful letter of appreciation for his years of service to the department. It touched his heart and mine. In the coming weeks, David reread that letter many times. It was very dear to his heart as was the Winterport Fire and Ambulance Department.
Gone fishing
David caught this fish when we went to spend the night at his neices camp. One night turned into a week. We had such a wonderful time that week. The fresh air was so good for him. The famous "monster" fish eluded him, took his worm, jumped out of the water with it and spit it out. This was his consolation fish. It was his second fish he caught that day, compared to my count of zero. (not that he was keeping score, of course!) Thank you Emily and Paul for opening up your wonderful camp to us! Wonderful memories were made that week!!
First Day of Fishing
This picture was taken on the first day of fishing, 2013, David and I had decided that this would be the year that we got out more and enjoyed the Great State of Maine. For the first time in years, I bought a fishing license. We went down to the Stream Road in Winterport and dropped our lines in the water. We didn't get a nibble at all but we had a wonderful time just being on the bank watching the current take our line downstream.
When I look at this picture, I remember how peaceful it was there. Before we knew about the terrible monster that was living inside him. As we were packing up to leave, he said, "Well we know where the fish are not!"
Love ya Honey!!!
