David Lanphere, age 71, died peacefully Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at his winter home in Florida with his loving family by his side.
He was born December 3, 1944, son of Norman and Madalene (McBride) Lanphere. He retired from Carriage House after many years of service. Dave was a 25 year member of the Ripley Hose Co. #1 and a member of Westfield Moose Lodge. Throughout the years, he enjoyed boating with family and friends on Chautauqua Lake, hunting, bowling, golfing and was an avid Nascar fan. He and his beloved wife of 50 years, Bonnie (Woodruff) Lanphere, enjoyed many years traveling in their RV. He was a lifelong resident of Ripley and the loving father of Tammy (Ronald) Pixley, of Yuma, AZ; Robert (Darlene) of Weedsport, NY; Jeffrey (Lisa) of Leo, IN. He will forever be missed by his grandchildren: Dylan, Lauren, Meganne, Derek and Julia and several nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his sister Carol (Lanphere) Kirkland of Orlando, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Bernard and Burton Lanphere.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Ripley, NY on Friday, December 18 at 4pm with a reception to follow at Meeder’s Restaurant.
