On this first sad but merry anniversary of your passing away, i am privileged once more to pen another tribute thankful to your illustrious son Batey, Batey Johnson and others. Dad, gone you are but i can feel your departure though at a very ripe age left a vacuum only the Lord's love and unity can fill within your family and friendly circles. Like Paul my Bible hero, i know you are now saying "for me to live is to make Christ known, and to die is gain" which i testify its evidence in your family lineage. Dad, as we pay this anniversary homage, may your gentle soul keep finding true peace as you rest at the Lord's bosom. It is well with the just in the Lord.

Hardly could i imagine sharing a heartfelt condolence with this illustrious family "the Bateys" but God in His glorious ways made it possible. Dad you are unknown to me but the pleasure i have to have shared a distant relationship of mutual love, care, concern and respect with one of your son John could not hold me from saying farewell and prepare us a place in the Lord's bosom. This gentleman lived 90 by the grace of God. Married to Mamie Agie Agbormbaeze who exit this sinful world in 2005 after giving the him 07children and Mamie Helen Chifon Batey who also gave him 05 children. A Nigerian trained Public Administrator from Zaria school of public administration Nigeria, Mr DN Batey as was fundly called, joined the Cameroon civil administration till 1986 retired.
