David "Scorpio" Orsino died peacefully at Sutter Roseville Medical Center on June 12, 2016 in Roseville, CA at the age of 86.  David is survived by his wife Violeta, daughters Linda, Larisa, Lura, grandchildren Jacqueline, Dominique, Joel-David, Taylor, Kiana, Luke, Jacob and great-grandson Kai Noah.

David was born on November 19, 1929 in San Agustin, Castillejos, Zambales, RP to Pantaleon Orsino and Lauriana Ruano.  He entered the United States Navy when he was 14 years old.  After tours of duty during World War II and the Korean War, he married Violeta Divino in 1956.  The couple moved to the United States and David engaged in two tours of duty for the Vietnam War.  The couple traveled the world and welcomed three beautiful daughters in Japan, San Francisco and Guam.  His daughters remember him as a positive role model who encouraged them to pursue their dreams.  In 1966, David joined the Fleet Reserves until 1968, when he retired. He began a career with Southern Pacific Railroad after retirement.

David was an accomplished poet and was often found reading and writing philosophical poetry in his garden.  He loved gardening and woodworking and took pride in teaching his grandchildren his passions.  He was an active member in the various poker tournaments and loved the thrill of the game.

A memorial service is scheduled for Sunday, June 26th at Oak Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park with a reception to follow.  All are welcome to attend and celebrate David’s life.  Condolences can be made on www.forevermissed.com/david-orsino.
