BAKER LANCE CPL. DAVID RAYMOND BAKER, age 22, passed away October 20, 2009, in Helmand Province of southern Afghanistan. Born October 1, 1987, in Paines-ville, he was a life-long resident of Painesville Twp. David is the loving son of Laurie (Karl "Bob") Lewkowski and Mark C. (Rebecca) Baker; dearest brother of Mark D. Baker, Lauren and Taylor Genovese; beloved grandson of James and Marlene Baker, Steve and Brenda Gyure, Karl and Toni Lewkowski, Don and Donna Kohls; nephew, cousin and dear friend of many. Lance Corporal David Raymond Baker was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran where he was a 81mm mortar man for the Weapons Company, 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment where he also served as a point man on his first tour in Afghanistan. David was a 2006 graduate of Riverside High School, where he played on the baseball team. He was a man of faith who loved his family, friends and his country. He enjoyed tubing on the boat, camping, country music especially the song "Chicken Fried" by Zac Brown Band. He frequently traveled with his brother to the family cabin up north. He loved dogs especially Tootsie. Interment at Arlington National Cemetery, in Arlington, VA. Funeral Service 11 a.m., Saturday, October 31, 2009, at Zion Lutheran Church, 508 Mentor Ave., Painesville. VISITATION 2 - 8 P.M., FRIDAY, AT MONREAL FUNERAL HOME, 35400 CURTIS BLVD., EASTLAKE.
