David Scott Libert, 63, of Troy, went home to be with the Lord, at 4:00 A.M., on Wednesday, January 1, 2014. He passed at home with his beloved Patti, and Hospice of Miami County by his side. He was born in Massillon, Ohio on March 2, 1950 to Julia Ondo Libert and the late Arthur J. Libert. He was preceded in death by his Father, Arthur Libert of Lima, Ohio. His Mother Julia Libert, survives and resides in Lima, Ohio. On March 6, 1999, David married Patti Reed of Lima, who survives in Troy. David is also survived by a Son, David Ty Libert of Wapakoneta; two Brothers; Arthur of Columbus, and James of Lima; a Step-Daughter, Angela Cochensparger of Lima, and a Step-Son, Jeremy Cochensparger of Georgia. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 96, of Lima, where he served as an active volunteer for several fundraisers and benefits. He was also a member of the Troy VFW Post #5436, as well as the Troy Fish and Game Association.

A celebration of David's life will be observed 3:00 P.M. Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy with Pastor John Shelton officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Contributions may be given to Hospice of Miami County, P.O. Box 502, Troy, Ohio 45373, in David's memory.      Shortly after David lost his battle with cancer, his Mother, Julia, joined him. By this time in her life, she had lost many of her senses, but she did understand that her baby boy had passed away. Her nurses said that she took it very hard. A year later, she joined him in Heaven.

                                                "JULIA LIBERT OBITUARY"

LIMA — Julia Ann Libert, 96, of Lima, passed away Saturday March 14, 2015, at Lima Convalescent Home.

She was born on January 18, 1919, to Alexander & Esther (Papp) Ondo who preceded her in death. She was married to Arthur Libert, who preceded her in death on December 12, 1997.

She is survived by her two sons, Jim Libert, of Lima, Arthur Libert, of Columbus, and one brother John Ondo of Lima, OH, five grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

Julia was preceded in death by her son David Libert, and her two brothers Alex and Ernest Ondo.
Julia's son Jim would like to thank all of the caregivers at Lima Convalescent Home, and St. Rita's Hospice for their fine care and love. Also, a special thank you to Kathy for all the love she gave his mother for eight years.

A private family service will be held, with burial following at Allentown Cemetery.

      On January 30th of this year, 2020, David's Brother Jim, joined him in Heaven. Like David, Jim lost his battle with Cancer.  Jim's Son, Jimmy informed me of this sorrowful news. My love and prayers go out to Jimmy. He is a good and devoted Son who loves and has always loved his Father with utmost respect.
