Tributes
Leave a tributeI miss you all the time, papa, and hope that you’d be proud of me.
Just over a month ago, we welcomed our first baby, a boy named James - and I know that you are going to look over him and pray for him - I only wish I could have seen you meet him!
I love you, papa and will miss you always.
“Jesus loves you, and so do I.”
Your granddaughter, Sabrina (and great-grandson, James)
I miss you always and think of you often - and this year is particularly bittersweet for me.
I remember when you were in the hospital at OHSU in Portland, we were talking one evening and I was encouraging you to keep up the good fight - and I promised that some day you would be able to perform my wedding.
I'm getting married this September - and I wish so much that you could be there to do the wedding. I wish so much that I could share in that with you like I promised a little over four years ago - and it hurts my heart that you won't be able to physically be there.
I do know, though, that you'll be there in spirit and I will be thinking of you on that special day and missing you every moment of it.
I love you - we all do - and we all miss you so very much.
Please look down on me and the entire family - pray for us - and I'm counting on you "being" at the wedding - I know you wouldn't miss it for the world.
Love you,
Sabrina
It has been a long, hard year - but I know papa is looking over us all from a better place.
I am so sorry to learn of Jim's passing. I have fond memories
of all of you when you were at St. Michael's. You all will be in my
prayers. With deepest sympathy -- Margaret McLaughlin
Deacon Jim was such a special guy. He gave so much of his time to St. Pius X and we all will always be blessed to have known him. We will miss him greatly. Our prayers and love are with you. Julene and Kent Lamoureaux
Jim was a very special man. He was so wonderful to us always, but especially after my father in law, Jim, passed away. His support was unforgettable. I am so very sorry for your loss. Please know that we are thinking of you and send our love. Love, Sarah and Con
I'm so filled with sadness about our family's recent losses and my heart and thoughts go out to all of you. I'll miss Uncle Jim. I have so many wonderful memories from my trip to both Oregon and California and your trips as a family to Maine. I miss and love you all very much.
Cindy

Got Wood?
A bit mischevious anyway, especially at that point, Mary, my brother and I decided to play some sort of prank as friendly revenge when Papa wouldn't let us build a tree house with the piles of unused wood in his back yard - literally hundreds of 2x4s. No joke.
We planned our attack one afternoon when Meme and Papa were gone...cutting up hundreds and hundreds of pieces of paper that were around 2 inches long and 1/2" wide and wrote WOOD, OAK, PINE, MAPLE, etc. on every single piece...put them on top of the ceiling fan in the dining room (as well as in Papa's shoes, pockets, drawers and tucked into his sheets/bed) and blasted the heat to around 85 or 90 degrees.
It was so hot by the time he got home, he immediately turned the fan on and hundreds of papers flew EVERYWHERE.
4 years later, we were still finding pieces of paper that read WOOD everywhere - it became a huge inside joke and for all of our birthdays papa would give us some sort of wood item - a wood pen, box, etc.
Deacon James A. Roy, fondly known as Deacon Jim, went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, May 9, 2012, surrounded by his family. He was 72.
He was born May 12, 1939, in Waterville, Maine, to Jerome and Dorothy (Drouin) Roy.
He married Carmen Levesque in June 1961 and they shared over 50 wonderful years of love, family, travel and service to God and country.
He retired from the U.S. Navy after 23 years of service as a Warrant Officer 4. During his military career, he served at various duty stations and on a number of ships. He served as a radioman during the Cuban Missile Crises in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Other overseas duties included Japan and Morocco. While serving in the military, he obtained his bachelor's degree and upon retirement received his master's degree from San Diego State University, graduating Phi Beta Kappa.
After retiring from the military, he became a permanent deacon for the Catholic Church and served at various parishes in California, Arizona and Oregon. He moved to Klamath Falls in 1996 and served as the deacon for St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church until his retirement in 2007.
Although he loved and served many people throughout his life, his wife Carmen and his eight children were the most precious to him and brought him much joy.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife Carmen and their children Peter and Betsy Roy, Cindy (Roy) and Bill Schmeck, Melissa Roy and Kevin Haley, Melanie (Roy) and Robert D'Andrea, John and Laura Roy and Mary Roy. Two sons preceded him in death Mark Antonio and Joshua Jon. Gerald Levesque and Carl and Mary Levesque and their families; his dear family friends Norma and Roger Short and Edwin Aguon; and his little dog Rambo.
He was preceded in death by his parents Jerome and Dorothy (Drouin) Roy and his in-laws R. Arthur and Matilda (Mida) Levesque, Lynette Levesque and Bernard Levesque.

Old Man Mud!
While travelling across country-my dad promised us Kentucky Fried Chicken. After picking up the chicken-we wanted to eat at a nice park. Dad wanted a more scenic place to eat. So we drove and drove and drove and drove-until after an hour-we finally stopped to eat our now cold chicken in the middle of a very hot South Dakota! He gave himself the honorary title of Old Man Mud! And like Mud-it stuck!
