This memorial website was created in memory of our loved one, Dean Adraktas. He was born on February 11, 1965 and passed away on August 28, 2014 at the age of 49.
He was adored by many people. His only desire in the end was to be with Christ. Dean's dedication to his faith has served as a catalyst for us to "pray without ceasing."
Please share your favorite Dean story under the "Stories" tab. Thank you.

Dean loved the geat outdoors....he loved getting to the highest peaks, knew all their names and altitudes. When Katherine came along he found the perfect mate. I loved hearing the wilderness esp mountain biking stories. (I didn't know he kept her bike in shape for her when they were dating) Katherine shared some of this at Dean's memorial gathering.
I remember how happy Dean was to be with us all for the holidays after he had moved away. He wanted to help me wash my "special" dishes...handling them like treasures with his big hands. And loved playing Kings Reverse card games with Granpa and Grandma (ultra serious cardplayers) If his friends called during the games he said he could not go, that was so good. We will always miss the special person he was.

It's by Anne Bradstreet (1612-1672)
To My Dear And Loving Husband
If ever two were one, then surely we.
If ever man were loved by wife, then thee.
If ever wife was happy in a man,
Compare with me, ye women if you can.
I prize thy love more than whole mines of gold,
Or all the riches that the East doth hold.
My love is such that rivers cannot quench,
Nor ought but love from thee give recompense.
Thy love is such I can no way repay;
The heavens reward thee manifold, I pray.
Then while we live, in love let’s so persever,
That when we live no more, we may live ever.
Isn't that lovely? I miss you Dean.
I only met you once, but you left an indelible mark upon me. I am so sorry I didn't get to see you again before you left. I guess I just assumed that someone as full of life as you would just be there whenever I got myself back to California and was lucky enough to meet up with you and Katherine again.
I'm sorry I didn't make it. Katherine - I"m sorry to you, too. When you're ready, I would love to see you again and catch up. Thinking of you,
Rachael

Happy Birthday Dean
the story behind..
Those glasses
Dean decided to try to save money on his glasses, so we went to the Walmart in Carson City; his prescription in hand. Surprisingly, at Walmart, the selection of eyewear was, shall we say, limited. After considering three or four non-completely repulsive frames, he chose these; thick as a bank vault and larger than the grand canyon. In Dean style, he adjusted to these glasses and never made an issue of their appearance or wondered how he looked in them. He wore those ten-pound frames until his friend John Abele pointed out that he could get smaller stylish frames; even with his prescription. Only then did we shop again for frames.
