You were my love, my best friend, and my lover for many, many years, beginning in1971. NYC and your King Street apartment were our playgrounds, and Wisconsin was our retreat. My dear love, my dear gentle soul, I love you, and I will miss you and your flute for ever and ever.

Home Bar and Restaurant, NYC

Dennis was the door man, but was pictured in the old menu. It is a 45 year old menu drawn with outlines only...Dennis is the character holding the drum sticks. A dear friend who was the cook there sent this to me.

Dennis Lane a great activist for causes we care about

July 8, 2015

We knew Dennis for many years and so appreciated his focus and concern for people and the planet. We worked with him on video projects, public access tv, and he was there at the beginning of KAVZ our low power FM station out in East Whatcom County.  We did workshops with him at Lummi Tribe and Mt. Baker HS teaching kids about using media. He told me once that they were trying to hire him to be John Lennon's body guard but he had moved away from New York City by then so wasn't able to be there to project John when he was shot down.

Thank you Dennis for a life well lived. We love you!

Uncle Dennis

July 7, 2015

My fondest memories of Uncle Den was when i was a little and my mom and dad and brothers would all head up to Westfield for Thanksgiving and Xmas Dinner.  Uncle Den was always the centerpoint of the conversations we shared with everyone including Uncle Leon, Uncle Billy, Nana, and Papa.  I remember they all would share stories and insight on cultural events and movies.

Especially westerns..it seemed Uncle Den, Uncle Billy, Uncle Leon and my brothers particuarly enjoyed the classics like Clint Eastwood in Outlaw Josie Wales or Hang Em High.  I learned so much from listening to their discussions and when i look back on it now i realize that i was truly apart of something amazing.  To see the soul of people when they come together during specials times in life is a gift..and it's these gifts is what i will miss the most from Uncle Den and our family back in the day.

You don't realize just how lucky you are when your young and everyone is there..but as you get older, you realize that life is precious and it doesn't last forever.  I can't even put into words the impact that Uncle Den, my mom, my grandparents, my uncles, my dad and my brothers had on my life at such a young age, but i will be forever grateful for these moments in time.  I love you Uncle Den and i miss you already.  I'm happy that you are finally at rest and next to my Mom again.  Take care and may God bless your soul for all of eternity.
