Digby was born in Bradford, Yorkshire in 1938 to Leslie Ben Olney and Ellen Jessie Jones into a family of 2 Children.
I remember he told me that his Father was the manager of the pub "the dusty miller" and worked there along with his wife Ellen, they lived in an apartment above.

After the Death of His Father Digby came to Harwich with his Mother and they bought a house together, He had various jobs including working for RAC as deputy manager where he worked for many years, and also on the ferries changing currencies with frequent visits to Holland, driving coaches and carpentry work.

Digby was a laid back, friendy and kind person who enjoyed gardening & woodwork, and I often helped him with this while I was growing up.

He loved his annual visits to Crete Greece and had planned to come in 2016.
