My condolences to you all.
I just found this out and this deeply disturbs me.
A heavy feeling is on my heart right now.

He was such a good friend. He would be there to help in the drop of a dime.

I also learned NOT to play horseshoes with him. He won every time :-)

I'm very sorry to read of the loss of your dear loved one. Jehovah God promises that very soon death and sorrow will be a thing of the past.

In the Bible at Revelation 21:4 we read " And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things will have passed away."

I hope that your cherished memories will bring you much comfort until these wonderful promises have been fulfilled.

Helping a Friend

October 12, 2016

I remember when a friend of mine who lived in Pamplin Va lost power during an ice storm.
I had a Generator but it was so heavy I called Donald to see if he could help and he came over and drove with me there and back to deliver it and later to pick it up.
He was always there for you.

Miss you my friend

Darts, a date, and the Donald

September 30, 2016

My favorite Grubber story was the time our dart team (Donald, Paula Brown, Fon Denton, DonDon Richards, and me) had a playoff match to which I, for reasons I can only chalk up to hormonal insanity, brought a date.

Well, she wasn't actually a "date"...she was a young woman I'd met that day in a different bar who decided to tag along. Donald was beyond amused. He bet me $5 that she wasn't going home with me after the match. "Why not?" I asked. "Because she's at the bar kissing some other dude."

Sure enough, her darts boredom was so great that she traded me in for another guy and HE took her home. I paid Donald the $5 and he chuckled that laugh I love so much.

Fast forward five years...I am living and working in Atlanta and my cell phone rings. It's Donald. He's in town working a contract job and wants to get dinner. I said "definitely!" I walk into the hotel bar and Donald is sitting there...with the guy who'd stolen my date five years earlier. "Remember this guy?" laughed Donald...so hard that he nearly had to lay down on the floor. Turns out he and Donald had become friends and co-worker and they thought it would be hilarious to remind me of the story (it WAS hilarious!)

Donald Grubb never met a man he didn't like. He was truly one of my favorite people in the world and I am so sad he isn't with us anymore. But, I am a much better person for having spent even a little time with him.

RIP, my friend.

When I was young

September 29, 2016

"I remember when I was little about maybe 3 or 4 sitting at Granny and Popaws house on Uncle Donalds bed playing with these annoying keyboards, I think Granny bought me and my sister, and hime sitting there playing games listenibg to me and my sister go on and on and all he would say was "Rock N Roll Chicks!!!" I know we sounded terrible but he let us play them gor hours. I am sure gonna miss him. While there are many more memories I can share that was one of my first that I can remember. Love you Uncle Donald Duck"
