His Life
August 21, 2014

Mr. Crumley was born on March 31, 1923, the son of the late Dee Crumley and Sarah Hinchey Crumley. He was a member of the Wilsonville Baptist Church. Dew to the death of his father he entered the work force at a very early age. During World War II he answered the call and served honorably in the United States Army. He achieved the rank of Sergeant in only three years. For his gallantry he received the Good Conduct Medal, American Service Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal. After his military service he became a lineman for Newport Utilities where he worked until his retirement. Even at a very senior age he always continued to work. Never idle, he took great pride in his two acre garden. In what little spare time he had he enjoyed hunting and fishing. “Mr. Don” was a wonderful husband to his lovely wife, Cora Aline Belcher Crumley until her death, and always the loving father and grandfather. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Darrell and Brenda Brumley of Franklin, GA.; one sister, Frances Helenboat of Knoxville, TN.; grandchildren, Cindy and Brandon Langley, and Mandy Crumley of Eclectic, AL. ; great-grandson, Dylan Langley, all of Dothan, A.; three sisters-in-law, Ora Belle Puckett and Hazel Merrell both of Newport, TN., and Dora Gass of Knoxville, TN…

Other than his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two enfant children, Susie and Larry Crumley; three sisters, Edna Presnell, Margaret Sentell, and Pauline Crumley; and two brothers, Homer and William Crumley.
