Dad

May 25, 2011

Dad, I can't believe it has been almost 6 months since you went home. There is not a day that goes by that we don't think of you or talk about you.

If I had one wish it would be to spend one more day with you. I know we have our morning talks but it is still not the same when I can't hear your voice. I miss you calling me on the phone to tell me the weather of the whole USA. haha.

You would be so proud of us kids, we are sticking together like glue. Your baby boy has grown up so much. He is now driving and I know you helped him pass the test. You would be amazed by his school grades to.

I know you don't want us to be sad, but the truth is you are our Dad. Dad we all love and miss you, life will never be the same.

Love your Daughter,

Dad

TO DAD

Your kindness was your huge heart worn on your sleeve.
We struggle to understand why you had to leave.
Whether working on cars or racing at the Fremont Drag Strip
Your precise humor was quick as a whip.
Who could possibly make us laugh as hard as you?
Your wisecracks were not only funny but often true.
We know life has been a “Rocky Road” for you.
And we understand why you went through a gallon or two.
As we stand at this crossroad where we must say goodbye,
We will comfort each other as we grieve and cry.
We are also thankful for our time together.
Our memories will sustain us forever.
No mistake we will be saddened from time to time.
More often we’ll smile with a Donald “High Sign.”
Dad- we miss you and can’t believe that you are gone.
Through your family and friends you will live on.
We know you’ll be looking after us all the while

With those gorgeous baby blues and that rascally smile.
