"The love of my life, Doretha (Dee, Sweetie Pooh) was truly a virtuous, compassionate, generous, and loving wife to me and mother of our children and grand children. She is truly missed and her passing left a deep void in my life-however thank the Lord for His presence in helping me get thru the past year. Not a day goes by where I don't miss her or those precious memories and fun we enjoyed together for more than fifty years. She was always my best friend."
"Whenever I think about who you were to me, I remember a very loving mother. I also remember a very dear friend . You are sorely missed . Thanks for every good and perfect gift that you gave me. I was blessed to have You in my life. Happy Birthday!"
"Belated but sincere condolences on behalf of myself, Cynthia, and the Green family, Ronnie, Robin, Chubby and my parents Jackie and Robert, who spent four lovely years as next door neighbors to the Jester family on Preston Street, during which time I watched Doretha blossom into the beauty that she always remained and whose love story with her Prince Charming I always admired and remember to this day. Please be comforted and trust in God's grace and wisdom during this time in your lives, and go forward with the belief that there will indeed be joy in the morning."

"My expression of love and dearest memoirs of cousin Doretha in this precious note: She was a light to her family and others, as she lit the pathway of life sharing her gifts, talents and labor of love. She walked that extra mile often with a quiet smile, in spite of... So I say 'rest' with Christ little flower, in your glorious new garden, for this special hour. "DEB""
"As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love."
"Cousin Doretha you were one of my favorite since childhood , your soul was sweet and I loved the way you always came with a hug and a smile no matter the time apart, I'll miss you at the reunions and miss the way you peeked over those glasses when we talked"
