Mrs. Dorothy Whaley Flournoy, 77, of West Point died Saturday, Nov. 26,2011 at Hospice
LaGrange.

Funeral services are planned for Tuesday, Nov.29 at 11 a.m. at McCarthy Funeral
Home with the Revs. Jimmy Pruitt and Aaron McCullough officiating. Burial will follow at
Marseilles Cemetery in West Point.

Mrs. Flournoy is survived by her husband, Hollis Flournoy
of West Point; two daughters, Cynthia(Harold) Wood and Cathy (Tommy) Daugherty, both of
LaGrange; grandchildren, Barry Green, Thomas Daugherty, Chris Daugherty, Joseph Wood, James
Wood, Kelly McCormick, Elizabeth Johnson, Crystal Brantley and Carly Clark; a
sister, Evelyn Roberts of Fayetteville, N.C.; two brothers, Jake Whaley Jr. of West Point
and Cecil Whaley of Lanett; and eight great-grandchildren.


Born Oct. 17, 1934 in West Point, Mrs. Flournoy was the daughter of the late Lucinda
McDowell Whaley and Jake Whaley Sr. She was preceded in death by her son, Hugh
Green. Mrs. Flournoy was a graduate of Gray Hill High School, attended beauty school
in LaGrange and Griffin and owned Dot's Beauty Shop in West Point. She was active in
Oakside Baptist Church in LaGrange and gave praise to the Lord in her daily walk. She
blessed many lives, even on her death bed.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made in her memory to Hospice LaGrange, 1510Vernon Road, LaGrange, Ga. 30240.

The family will greet friends Monday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at McCarthy Funeral Home in West Point.
