His Life

His Heart Will Go On

April 7, 2011

Doyle Daniel White (my father) was born on May 16, 1931 in Mercedes, TX in the Rio Grande Valley.  His mother was Mollie G. White and father was Earl White. He had one older brother, Gene White.

As he grew up I remember my father always talking about great High School friends and riding his motorcycle.  He learned to repair and refurbish vehicles by working with his Dad Earl, in their mechanic shop.  He loved being outside and would pick fresh fruits during the Summer.  Daddy loved aviation from a very young age and as a young man, joined the Air Force.  He initially dreamed of being an aerial photographer, but that position was not available.  Instead, he became an air radio operator.  After leaving Air Force active duty, Daddy had several positions which would eventually lead him to his primary career in Aerospace Research.  He spent thirty very happy and exciting years at Brooks Air Force Base working in Aerospace Engineering & Research.

Daddy & Mother (Erlene W. White) married in San Antonio, TX in 1955.  I, his only daughter, was born on November 28, 1959.  My name is now Tracey Bauer.

My memories of my Dad are of a vibrant, happy optimistic man who always taught me to follow my dreams and that I could do anything I set my mind to.  I am so happy he was able to walk me down the aisle in August of 2008 and that he got to be great friends with my husband Rick Bauer.  They loved to play golf together and we frequently all grilled on weekends and enjoyed talking about computers and airplanes!

I could not have asked God to give me a better Father than Doyle D. White and his Heart will Go On in the cherished memories of all his family and friends.
