January 26, 2014

Mr. Ector Dean was born in Meriwether County to the late Jim and Mollie Dean.   He was one of eleven children.  All of his brothers and sisters preceded him in death.  He attended the Meriwether County Schools, and joined the St. Paul C.M.E. Church at an early age.

On July 18, 1946 he married Marial Caldwell.  They celebrated their sixty-seventh anniversary July 2013.  During their sixty-seven years of marriage their family has grown to 12 children, 27 grandchildren, and 44 great grandchildren.  One son, Joe Nathan, preceded him in death.

Ector proudly served his country in World War II as a solider in the U.S. Army.  He retired from Uniroyal in Hogansville, GA to help care for his grandchildren.

Loving memories will forever live in the hearts of his wife Marial Dean, children:  Rose Marie Dean, James Dean, Sr., Johnny Dean, Sr., Clarence (Sherry) Dean, Jerry Dean, Barbara (Roy) Phillips, Mary (Curtis) Amey, Ernestine Owens, Samuel (Tonya) Dean, Patrick Dean, and Sonja Dean; 27 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren; one sister in law, Mary Thomas; a host of nieces and nephews; and special friends: Charles Pollard, Valerie Sanders, and Alma Clements.
