Edna Marie Gaddis Anderson "Granny" was bom May 13, 1913 to Mr. and Mrs. Henry & Willie Gaddis in Socopatoy, Alabama.

Edna was the sister to seven brothers and four sisters.

Edna was united in marriage to Silas Anderson and to their union three children were born of which two have preceded her in death, Abram Anderson, Sr. and Inell Anderson.

Edna joined Peace and Goodwill MBC and served faithfully well into her old age. She was the oldest member until her demise.

Edna was employed with Russell Corporation and retired in the mid
seventies. She was very creative quilt maker and desigaer. She loved farming
and gardening. She truly enjoyed the harvesting, canning and the preserving
of her crops. Edna lived a life of peace, her soft spoken voice and
unconditional love was given to all that knew her.

Edna leaves to cherish her memory: a devoted son, Elbron (Norma)
Anderson of Enterprise, Alabama; a loving brother, Lloyd Gaddis of Dayton,
Ohio; six loving grandsons, Calvin Wayne Thomas of Denver, Colorado,
Phillipe (Fabian) Pinchon of Paris, France, Abram (Jernell) Anderson of
Alexander City, Alabama, Adrian (Rhonda) Anderson of Lawrenceville,
Georgia, Kevin (April) Anderson of Orange, Texas, Micheal Andre (Alysa)
Maxwell of Duluth, Georgia; three granddaughters, Carla Vail of Memphis,
Tennessee, Phyllis Ralls of Montgomery Alabama and Keshia M. (Jason)
Zimmerman of Elizabethtown Pennsylvania; eleven great-grandchildren;
twenty-one great-grandchildren and a host ofnieces, nephews and honorary
grandchildren.

On May 4, 2013 she was honored with a BLESSED 100 Year Birthday
Celebration given by her family. In addition she received recognition by
political dignitaries and community leaders including: The President of the
United States of America" The Honorable Barack H. Obama and First Lady
Michelle Obama. Governor of Alabama, The Honorable Robert Bentley, Mr.
Unzell Kelly, Commission District Three, Coosa County presented her with
a resolution with all members of the commission concurring with
honoring Edna Marie Anderson on the occasion of her 100th Birthday. A
letter from NBC news and Willard Scott recognizing her remarkable
milestone and fruitful life.
Edna MarieAnderson left a legacy of Peace & Love and we will cherish
her memories forever.
