Edna Currin Whitfield, 97, a longtime resident of Granville County passed away Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Universal Healthcare in Oxford.
A native of Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Nathaniel Currin and Maggie Conn. She was a longtime member of Tally Ho First Baptist Church and retired from ARC in Butner.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at 11:00 A.M at Tally Ho First Baptist Church by Rev. Eddie Nutt. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.
Surviving are two daughters; Donna W. Brock (Warren) of Youngsville, Jane W. Skinner (Skip) of Stem, two granddaughters; Whitney B. Shelton (Brandon), Olivia G. Brock and one great-grandson, Cooper Shelton, all of Wake Forest.
Visitation will be held Monday evening, January 4, 2015 from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor.
Flowers are accepted or memorials can be made to Tally Ho First Baptist Church, 1692 Sanders Rd. Stem, N.C. 27581.

Edna was a good friend and neighbor for many years. I have so many wonderful memories of visiting in her back yard, cutting up apples, making ice cream, etc. She will be greatly missed, because she was greatly loved. I look forward to the day I see her again! God be with all of you.
