Biography of Edwin Anchie Awuro

Edwin Anchie Awuro was born March 6th 1975 in Douala - Littoral Region. He spent his early years in Douala where his father worked, and later moved to Muyuka. He returned to Douala to attend Goverment Primary School Bepanda. Upon graduation he was admitted to Government Secondary School Muyuka in 1989. He performed brilliantly and in 1994 he passed the GCE Ordinary Levels. He then attended the Worldwide Mission High School Mpondo - Muyuka where he acquired the GCE Advanced Level Certicate in 1996.


Edwin spent some time at home nursing his ailing mother and in the year 2000, he moved to the USA to join his father and siblings. He studied the health sciences at Montgomery Community College and eventually started working for Diamond Health Care at Washington Hospital Center and at Adventist Behavioral Health Services. He exhibited exceptional qualities on the job and gained the admiration and respect of his collleagues and the people he served.

During this time, at a personal level Edwin made several strides. He was wedded and became the father of Shalom his lovely son. At the family level, he played an active role in mending and fostering family relationships, he was involved in the education of some family members at home, and catered to the needs of many. His generousity an altruism could not be overlooked.

Some three to four years ago, he was diagnosed with what we found out could be terminal illness. Edwin received the information and continued to live life as best as he could. He followed Doctors orders, he prayed and believed in a positive outcome. To his son Shalom, he gave all he could, given the circumstances and remained proud of him. He did everything he could to live for Shalom too. He stayed strong, underwent several surgical operations and medical interventions. He fought bravely, but it was not meant to be. The good Lord wanted him more.

Edwin was a good son, brother, cousin,nephew and friend. He would be remembered for his strength and bravery in the face of such difficult circumstances. Even in times of extreme difficulty and pain, the man was a source of inspiration and comfort. He had no fears and was always reminding everyone of us, it would be ok. We love him and we miss him, but God loves him more.
