To the Family of Egheomhanre Emmanuel Eyieyien,

It is my sincere apology to hear about your loss.

Losing a loved one is very difficult.  For this reason when we view what the Bible says it comforts us.    Jesus says regarding our dear loved ones who have died that

“There is going to be a resurrection.”—Acts 24:15, New World Translation.

This means that we have a real hope of being reunited with our loved ones.

…. but why should we believe what the Bible says is true?

God hates death: he views it as an enemy. (1 Corinthians 15:26) He has a longing to conquer that enemy, to undo death by means of the resurrection. He yearns to bring back those who are in his memory and to see them live on earth again.—Job 14:14, 15.

My tribute

January 18, 2016

Egheomhanre Eyieyien was not known only for his financial and economic expertise for which he was much sought after and a regular national commentator. He was my brother in the Lord, a trusted friend to me and family. Friends like him are rare these days. We studied together at the University of Benin where I met him 32  years ago. I was a regular visitor to his house after that and he was best man at my wedding while his wife Awesiri (friend of my wife) was chief bridesmaid. My leaving Nigeria  24 years ago did not dim the light of our friendship as He and his wife hosted us almost every time we visited!
Eghes (as he was called) was a man of strong spiritual principles. A man of integrity which he passed on to his group of companies, a fiercely patriotic Nigerian. Some may realize how much you loved music another thing we shared and with your wife being a singer herself. Once he believed in a cause, was always prepared to go all the way. We miss you and wish you stayed longer here on the planet. I will miss our chats, discussions, your long articles, spiritual and political but as you said this was 'conclusion'.

We say, Let the Lord have His way. Rest in the bosom of our Lord Jesus.
