1961 all of us

April 4, 2017

This family portrait was taken in Denison Texas by Jenkins Studio. I added the pipe to show my photo class a Photogram option.

portrait of mom by almost famous Chicago photographer

March 17, 2017

Lionel Heymann retired in 1964 after 40 years of photographic work. Mom probably had this made while he was at the Blackstone Hotel studio in Chicago. After a little online research I found out that Lionel was an accomplished art photographer (including nudes and architecture) plus an educator... although he claimed to be a waiter on government forms. His art work is still sold today through auction houses.
He found a pretty model here!

St Patrick's Day 1990

March 16, 2017

Dad had a good time putting his Irish on while visting NYC. We went to the Parade then to Kinsale, the Irish Pub next door to my apartment. We snuck out our pint beer mugs. He was a man of adventure! And mom was a willing side-kick... some of the time.

Stevie and Elaine

March 16, 2017

Stephen and Elaine had a very special connection. From a very young age, I often read him a spiritual book that talked about arriving into life and that we all have a guardian angel. I took liberty assigning her to him as such angel.
It was often painful being so far away.

Some Family Time (1979)

March 16, 2017

Both Grandma Clara and Grandpa Henry were visiting from Iowa. Mom and Dad were in their first or second year of owning American Passenger Travel Agency. I don't remember what the occasion was to bring Uncle George and Aunt Mary to town. Their youngest son, Matt, looks about 7 years old. This photo was made  by me (Michael) outside of the travel agency which was located in a hotel lobby, just minutes from Houston's Intercontinental Airport.

I remember Elaine fondly.  She was always smiling and enjoying life.  It always made me happy to be with her.  May God give you peace.
