Her Life

Ms. Elizabeth Howe, a native of Warm Springs, Georgia is the daughter of the late Deacon Ben and Minister Corine Howe of Warm Springs, Georgia.  She was born April 15, 1950 in Meriwether County, Georgia.  She departed this earthly life on Friday, May 2, 2014 at Columbus Hospice.    

She joined Leverette Hill Baptist Church at an early age.  She was a devoted missionary and choir member until her health failed.  Elizabeth "Nip" Howe was a graduate of Meriwether County Training School.  

If you really knew "Nip" she was a very outspoken person with a beautiful smile and a singing voice.


She was employed at Warm Springs Roosevelt Institute for thirty-two years.  She retired September 30, 2002.


She leaves to cherish her memories, three children, Shiakita Branford (Steve) of Shiloh, GA, Joshua Jones and Chaka Howe of Warm Springs, GA; three grandchildren, Darnelius "Dewan" Prather, Steven "Antwan" Branford, Kelsi Corine Walton; six siblings, Ida Bell Walton, Sam Howe of Warm Springs, GA, Raiford Howe (Ester) of Chicago, IL, Larry Howe (Geraldine), Darlene Dunlap (Robert), Patricia Gates, all of Warm Springs, GA; preceded in death, Ben Howe, Jr. and Jimmy Lee Howe of Atlanta, GA; special nephew Colby Gates; and a host of nieces and nephew she loved so dearly.
