Ellie &Rob meet

March 5, 2017

Rob & Ellie meet on the train to the 1958 Ohio State Rose Bowl trip. Ellie would would not have anything to do with me, because I was a pledge and she was a junior. The fraternity that l belonged to required your grades from your second quarter of your sophomore year to go active. After Ellie graduated she moved To Dayton Rob's home town to start teaching. She got a apartment with her best friend Nancy Turner (Bachman). Rob would come home to date Ellie. We would triple date with Nancy with my cousin John and my father. I proposed to her that year. We married June 25 and started our life together in California .

I met Ellie about 20 years ago and it was instant like for both of us. I loved her stories of her family and the adventures she and Rob went on. I do not ever remember her not smiling. She was a good friend and I will miss her dearly.

Dan and I have so many happy memories of times with Eleanor...for me, it all started when she was 10 years old, and I was 15...I met Dan's little sister...and I had never had a little sister before..so it was fun, going to movies together, Sunday dinner, family picnics and many other good times....then when Rob came into the picture, that was great, too,  as we've shared stories, holidays and vacations....living many miles apart has made it a little more difficult....but the wonderful memories of that "little sister" will always be in my heart!

https://goo.gl/photos/DFv76ETYVzYBa3CA7 Just a few photos to share of some fairly recent visits to Florida, and a few from New York. When we knew we were going to see Rob and Ellie, we knew we were in for some great family, friends and food, which means fun and laughter. We will ever miss her wonderful company, laughter and smile.

Evans Mills

February 20, 2017

Last time I saw Ellie about 21/2 years ago we spent a lot of time reminiscing about those short 4-5 years living in Evans Mills. Those years were some of my favorites and they resulted in a life long best friend and a second family that I love dearly. We haven't always been in close contact but when we did get together it was as if no time had passed.  We shared 2 weddings, Julia's and mine in Ohio and Phoenix respectively, Lake Tahoo for Ellie's 60th Birthday and Montana the last time we we're together (among many other adventures). I learned so much from all the Riber's but specifically I learned how to be a great Mom from Ellie; one that was firm yet loving, fun and adventurous and forgiving, considering we actually did break her couch. I was considered a family member and even some of their friends asked them about their other daughter once when I wasn't with them! We had many great adventures that started in Evans Mills. I will miss Ellie as I miss my own Mother. And I agree with Ellie that we all did live a lifetime during those years in Evans Mills!
